A resort-scale landscape build on a premier North Dallas property. This project spans a full front and backyard transformation — including pool and spa construction, sport court, bocce ball court, custom water features, synthetic turf, hardscape, pergola structures, outdoor kitchen, and layered plantings across the entire property. Project Details
An estate-scale landscape build requiring full underground infrastructure and multi-zone installation across a large North Dallas property. Blount Designs delivered an outstanding plan — our crew managed every phase of construction. Key elements included:
Site Prep: Full property graded with subsurface drainage, multi-zone irrigation, pool plumbing, and electrical all mapped and installed before any surface work began.
Synthetic Turf: Full backyard coverage around pool, between recreation zones, and through transition areas — each section with independent subgrade and drainage.
Plantings: Sculpted topiaries, boxwood at multiple heights, ornamental trees, seasonal florals up front. Continuous evergreen screening along the back fence with boxwood underplanting.
Pool and Flatwork: Pool excavation, plumbing, gunite, and finish work coordinated alongside the broader build. Stone deck across full backyard poured with proper base prep for clay soil.
Irrigation: Multi-zone system mapped to plant type, sun exposure, and water needs. Each zone calibrated independently.
Lighting: Uplights on specimen trees and topiaries, step lighting at entry, bistro lights on the pergola structure.
Challenges and Solutions
Drainage at Scale: Massive impervious surface coverage — pool deck, court, pavers, patios — required full-property grading and subsurface drainage to handle North Texas storm volume.
Clay Under Every Pour: Pool deck, court subgrade, paver base, and step footings all engineered for seasonal soil movement with proper compaction and base depth.
Underground Coordination: Pool plumbing, electrical, irrigation, and drainage all running under one property — mapped before breaking ground to avoid cascading rework.
Immediate Screening: Large-caliper evergreens along full back fence with proper root handling, staking, and watering for dense coverage from day one.
