Full Property Remodel

A complete landscape transformation in the heart of University Park. This project included full site grading, drainage system installation, premium plantings, sod work, and a custom-designed outdoor living space.

Project Details

The Park Cities Estate involved a complete front-and-back landscape build with pool construction at its core. The homeowner wanted a modern transitional property that balanced outdoor living with low-maintenance materials. Landscape plan by Blount Designs. Key elements included:

  • Pool and Spa: Full pool build with in-water loungers, mosaic tile detailing, and stone coping — all plumbing, steel, gunite, and finish work managed on-site.

  • Synthetic Turf: Installed across backyard living areas with independent subgrade prep and drainage for each section.

  • Hardscape: Stone-capped patio, steps on concrete piers, and reconstructed columns and archways to maximize usable outdoor space.

  • Plantings: Holly Eagleston, Espaliered Magnolia, Cherry Laurel, and Boxwood installed for immediate screening and year-round structure.

  • Front Yard: Oversized concrete walkway in crushed gravel, boxwood globes, ornamental plantings, and stone retaining walls with step lighting.

  • Lighting: Alliance uplights highlighting specimen trees and architectural features across the full property.

Challenges and How We Solved Them

  • Clay Soil: Every pour — patio, steps, piers — engineered for seasonal expansion and contraction common in North Texas.

  • Drainage: Full property graded before finish work to direct water away from home and pool. Subsurface drainage handles heavy rain events.

  • Continuity: Front and back had to match — same material palette, same finish level. Gravel, stone, boxwood, and turf carried through both.

  • Instant Privacy: Large-caliper specimens with layered underplanting for full visual coverage from day one.
